Fundamentals of Materials Handling and Warehousing

This course was developed by OMERIC - the Operations Management Education and Research Institute of Canada - an organization affiliated with APICS Region VIII which developed the complete Fundamentals program, that is now a standard APICS offering.

This course is concerned with the design of systems to handle, store and distribute goods and service-related materials and with the operation of those systems. It discusses relationships within the company environment, particularly with marketing and production. Topics covered include facilities and equipment planning, cost analysis, order processing, and warehouse operations management.
Objective: To impart knowledge and understanding of materials handling and warehouse management and the factors involved in designing and operating an effective physical distribution process.
